How to lose half of your subscribers

Apparently by mentioning the word sex in a blog title. We’ve been rollin’ along, getting new subscribers pretty consistently and then I decided it would be a good idea to blog about the campaign being run by Relevant Church and Presto! Our subscriptions were cut in half according to Feedburner.

I’m hoping it was a fluke, I’m hoping half of the people that were following along weren’t really that uptight.

Am I missing something?

Yeah that’s odd indeed. Must be a fluke. Something has gone wrong. Be interested to know if you get it sorted.

It was a fluke. Feedburner has days where their stats drop drastically. My stats yesterday were cut in half also. Today, they’re back up. In fact, I gained a few after the “blackout.”

    It’s healed! Hallelujah!

Glad it was a fluke, and we also gained a few new subscribers. Last time they feedburner hiccuped they had a mention of it on their website, so this time when I didn’t see anything I couldn’t figure it out.

I actually wondered if it was some sort of filter…seeing that many of our subscribers are pastors, church leaders, christians, etc. I thought maybe one of the gatekeeper programs made the choice for them.

But the blog has been delivered!

I am sorry it was a fluke. I actually had some hope that there was discernment left in the church. The problem is not that the church in not ‘relevant’. The problem is that the church is too often indistinguishable world. It seems we are awash with ‘me’ centered sermons were all terminates on the created rather than the Creator.
