Yep, you’ve read it right…tongues on a T-shirt. HolyGhostTees.com is selling an entire line of “cutting edge” T-shirts with the language of angels on them. And to push me completely over the edge the shirts come in, and I quote, “prophetic insipired colors”. It is because of things like this that I often run into a wall with the pastors I talk with when I mention church marketing. In case you are wondering, this is the exact opposite of what it means to be relevant or excellent.

But I’m not laughing, this makes us look like idiots that are completely out of touch. People will know you by your fruit, not the dorky T-shirt you’re wearing (yes, that goes for the Lord’s Gym too). If you need to wear a T-shirt for people to know who you serve…well, all I will say is you need to look at how you are serving. If you just simply must have a ‘christian’ t-shirt, check out C28, they at least have style. But please, remember your originality comes from Christ in you not in the shirt you wear or the bumper sticker that you put on your car.
