Hey no worries at all…keep these conversations going. I’m all for causing people to investigate and even in creating some mystery. But these are just weird and hokey and…make light of something of the spirit.

I must say – I don’t find anything wrong with wearing a t-shirt that leads people to investigation. However, if that t-shirt for shock value/style alone, I have issues. Of course, they make money though. So…

I seldom wear clothing with a logo or graphics, when I do it’s usually just from a place I enjoyed being so I “got the tee shirt” for the sake of a souvenir. I’m always curious when I see people – Christians included, maybe in particular – wearing clothing or driving a car plastered with bumper stickers bearing what they obviously consider to be an IMPORTANT MESSAGE. I wonder how many people you could actually influence into doing anything with a tee shirt. Would you even go to an unfamiliar restaurant just because you saw somebody with the place’s name on the front of their shirt? Probably not. Would you go to an unfamiliar doctor for important surgery just because somebody had a bumper sticker that said “Dr. So-and-so”? Definitely not, ridiculous to even consider. Would you honestly expect a person to be influenced to make a life-changing, eternally important decision because they saw somebody in a “Christian” tee shirt? Please.

Imho, the only effect these admittedly well-intentioned tee shirts and stickers have is to trivialize their message, to reduce Christianity to the same level as Nascar or Bud Light.

Not the message I want to send to the world.
