I’ve been a big person when it comes to beta testing a new social platform. I would love the chance to be able to try out Google Wave. I requested an invite from Google weeks ago, but I imagine I’m a long ways off from getting a direct invite.

I don’t have much of a ministry or church way I’ll use this, but I just wanted to comment and say “Thanks” for a good giveaway idea. A thousand times better than “Follow me and retweet this message.”

Really shows your heart and passion for the church.

I work with ministries and non-profits helping them upgrade their image and teach them how to use the internet to communicate with their donors and gain new ones.

I would love to get a jump on using wave and see what it has to offer.

Plus it would be pretty fun!

This is an awesome thing you are doing. I am the lead pastor of LifePoint Church in Cleveland, TN and would love to use this with my team to streamline how we communicate. I also do web design and it would be an awesome tool for collaboration.

I would love an invite if you should be so inclined.

Michael – I would like a Google Wave invite to use on my journey of moving into full-time ministry. I am collaborating with people all over the country on this journey that are mentors, friends, supporters, and advisers and the real-time features would assist us in sharing ideas and honing plans for eventual move into ministry. Besides, I want to be like all the other cool kids on the block.

Hi Michael, man I’ve been dying to know what this Google Wave is about. I watched half of the video preso and was wow’d. I’m webmaster/designer for Fellowship Church of Houston and would love to introduce Wave to my team, if you can spare one.

    Thanks!

    Hi!

Thanks for this opportunity! My husband and I started a church about a year ago. We are very small so we use a lot of volunteers for everything. With our alternate work schedules and using volunteers so much I think Google Wave could really help a lot as we brainstorm to get everyone’s input in a simple and effective way. We watched the videos on YouTube a while ago when they were showing us all the fun stuff and have been EAGERLY waiting for Google Wave to come out! I’d LOVE an invite to check it out and hopefully help us out!

    Thanks!

Hey Michael! I would love to try out Wave. I’m working on a few ministry projects that involve people across the country. Wave looks like a great tool for communication and idea sharing. I love the ability to play the history of the Wave which will make following an idea thread so much easier than trying to trace it back in an email.

Also, I am working a few writing projects. Some are collaborative and others are independent projects that I have some peers and author friends editing and providing feedback on. My favorite part of the Wave demo was the ability for all of the people in the Wave to work on text edits together. Love it! I could see that being a very helpful application, especially on the collaborative projects.

    Talk to you soon,
    Nicole

Well I work for an Internet campus so I’d love to be able to play around with it and see what applications it has for our live broadcasts online.

Because I want Google to take over the world. After Google takes over the world we will be much better people. We will have no wait time for the internet, the streets will be paved with gold and customer service will be non-existent because everything will be so perfect that we won’t need to talk to anyone.

Uh, in reality I have no clue how I will use it but it looks very RAD and I want it. Honesty is the best policy.

I do a lot of e-mail collaboration every week both at work and at church. It would be great to have a a central gathering place for all of it.

I’m beginning to wonder if Google Wave is all that everyone says it is. I wouldn’t mind settling the matter firsthand.

If your name was pulled out of the hat, your nomination for a Google invite has been cast. Not sure the process really, I just know I was given 8 invites to use as “nominations”. As I get more I’ll keep sending them out to those who were part of this conversation.

For the record and since I actually received some negative feedback on asking people to post here; this wasn’t about building traffic. I don’t blog to build traffic, or send tweets to build followers. Those are all just numbers, and serves no purpose (unless you sell ads).

I wanted you to post because I really want to see how you are going to use this in ministry and to show my focus of helping the church communicate more powerfully. I was trying to do something nice and I’m sorry if anyone took it the wrong way.

All the Google Wave invites have been sent out, as I (if I) get more I will continue to pull from this list. I sent you an email if we pulled your name.

As you get those invites do come back and share how you are using it. So often we all rush to a new toy, but then fumble with how to use it.

Sorry Greg all my nominations (which apparently is different than an invite) are gone for now. As I get more I’ll send them out.

So far Wave seems okay, but seems to needed masses to work. I mean it’s okay one on one but definitely more for group collaboration….perfect for church staffs.

As an art director on a media team with 6 other staff we are always in conversation regarding everything from a key art design concept to which conference to go to.

This would be invaluable in a small to medium group of people where it’s handy to track the conversation.

We have already implemented Google Calenders and looking to integrate into Google’s mail platform in the next few months. This would be huge leap.

This is why I would love wave.

it’s so sad…I’ve had one for some time now, don’t use it at all…Mainly because it’s not open to everyone yet.
Funny, I’ve been using a different online collaboration program for a while called Kono Live… it’s in more of an app form than a web app. I think it’s more useful than wave, at least for now.
