24.fourteen conference

If God puts something across your path that may not be the picture of how you see your calling, take a step back and remember: it’s not about you.

I had the honor of doing just that this weekend as a speaker at the 24.fourteen youth conference of the Assemblies of God-Michigan District. The weekend was attended by students who had a call on their life for full time ministry. Typically when I’m asked to speak it’s to pastors or communication directors…but this time I had the honor to share the passions of our future leaders, I was given the opportunity to speak into the lives of tomorrow’s church leaders.

Some take aways from the weekend:

  • great teams produce great results
  • great ministers have even greater wives
  • it’s not about altar calls, it’s about God changing us
  • a call is not a job, it’s a continuing hunger to serve

I encourage every leader out there to find an opportunity to speak into the lives of those who will one day take the helm of leading the church. You will not regret it and will probably find you receive just as much as you are giving.
